In 1998, an academic team of measurement experts joined a team of business leaders to study the relationships among the elements of an engaged employee culture that consistently contribute to high-performing work units.

From an initial study of more that 100 work units in healthcare, founding partner Dr. Courtney McCashland validated a structural equations model of the direct and indirect links between manager talent, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, customer retention and profitability. The relationships found in healthcare were subsequently published and cross validated with a global financial services provider. The critical influence of Manager Talent on the performance of the business led to the inception of TalentMine® to assist organizations in matching talent to drive sustain business results.
